A Washington state law requiring public disclosure of the names and addresses of signers of referendum petitions in general does not facially violate the First Amendment freedoms of speech or association, the U.S. Supreme Court decided June 24 by a vote of 8--1 (Doe v. Reed, U.S., No. 09-559, 6/24/10). From Media Law Reporter, Publication date June 29, 2010
